Cadwell BSB: Bike ‘out of character’ for Brookes

Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes is not feeling completely satisfied with his bike after the MCE British Superbike free practice sessions at Cadwell Park today, and feels his machine is ‘out of character’.

The Bringelly rider was fifth fastest during FP2, and was nearly two second off the pace of Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne. But the rider doesn’t want his team to make major setup changes to the bike – but things will be looked at tomorrow in time for the final free practice session and qualifying.

“Today there has been something a bit different with the character of the bike and we don’t want to start making a load of changes as it might just need a few things checking over,” said Brookes.

“We don’t want to do anything radical because we usually have a general setting and then just make some tweaks. We believe that we can look at it again in the morning as it is just out of character. In that respect we felt a bit far away today but hopefully tomorrow we can fix the problem.”
