Cadwell BSB: Leg pain forces Ellison out of race weekend

GBmoto Kawasaki’s James Ellison has ruled himself out of the rest of the MCE British Superbike race weekend at Cadwell Park, as he is still suffering with pain from the leg he broke a month ago at Brands Hatch.

The Kendal rider bravely took part in all three free practice sessions, and the first qualifying outing at the Lincolnshire track, but the pain was too much for him and he has since retired from the double header tomorrow.

Getting into the points was the aim for Ellison, but he only qualified 22nd in Q1 and out of contention to battle for a front row start, so the racer is going to continue with his treatment on his leg and hopes to come back for the next round at Donington Park.

“I couldn’t do anymore laps, and even though I am frustrated it was right for me to stop after Q1, but I tried my best and I couldn’t ask for anymore than I did this weekend. I can’t race like that being in pain, so after talking with my team I know I won’t be able to race tomorrow. So I am now looking ahead to the next round at Donington,” said Ellison, at the track.
