Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari only had one target this afternoon, and that was to bag pole position for the opening MCE British Superbike race tomorrow afternoon at Donington Park, but that ended up going to Tyco Suzuki’s John Hopkins. Now he wants to do the double as his next goal.
The triple champion is feeling disappointed that he didn’t get the P1 spot he craved, but thinks he has the race pace to be competitive tomorrow. King Kiyo has already booked his place in the Showdown – so he is after more valuable podium credits this weekend.
“I am happy with second, but I think my race pace maybe OK - or maybe not. I am a bit disappointed with Q3 as I did better in Q2, but I wasn’t as fast as the second qualifying session, but I want to win both races and keep strong. I am also happy with the setup of the bike too – so wont be making any changes,” said Kiyonari, at the track.
