Pirelli National Superstock 1000 contender Joe Burns will make his 2014 MCE British Superbike debut at Assen next weekend as a wildcard on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki.
Burns is planning to move into the premier class in 2015 so the race in Holland is a perfect way to gauge his level of competitiveness.
"I am looking forward to this weekend. We are looking to move into Superbikes next season and so this is a great opportunity for us to have a run out without having the Superstock class to contend with too. We have done some testing with the bike, but I have never ridden at Assen, so I have that to learn, but I have done a lot of laps on the PlayStation,” said Burns.
"I haven't raced in Superbike before but it is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I just want to try and score points and improve throughout the weekend. I want to do the best job I can and hopefully it will give us a good starting point for 2015."
