Ellison to experiment with new parts at Thruxton BSB

JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Ellison will experiment with some new parts in the opening two MCE British Superbike free practice sessions at Thruxton this weekend in order to find some race-winning pace.

The early championship leader has some ground to make up in the points table this weekend but is only 19 behind in terms of the all-important podium credits thanks to a string of race wins early in the year.

“I love Thruxton. I’ve always had some really good results there so I was gutted to miss it last season after the accident but I still remember every bump and turn so it’ll only take a few laps Friday morning to see if anything’s changed,” said Ellison.

“We’ve got lots of things to try on Friday, with both me and James trying different things and experimenting with some bits which we’ll then report back on in the evening, ready for Saturday.

“I’ve taken a big step forward this past week or so with the injury too, there wasn’t much difference between the crash and Brands Hatch if I’m honest and I couldn’t do my usual training, however this past week I’m almost back to normal.

“It’s still sore and gives me some pain but it’s much better than it was at Brands so I don’t expect it will give us much hassle this weekend, so we can focus on getting back on that top step and give JG Speedfit something to cheer about at their main event.”
