Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot is edging ever closer to his debut MCE British Superbike race win, after two second place finishes at the Snetterton 300 track today.
The new dad was narrowly out-paced by his team-mate Jason O’Halloran in the opening race, after he had a big moment on the final lap and managed to hold on to take second.
In the final outing Linfoot was closing in on championship leader, Shane Byrne and he crossed the line in another convincing second place onboard his Fireblade.
The Northerner wanted to make up for his earlier crash at Oulton Park and his aim was to bag some much needed podium credits and silverware, and he did just that. Now he is fourth in the overall standings and in Showdown contention with 111 points.
“It is definitely coming close [the first win]. I am a lot happier with that performance than in race one, even though I just missed out on victory. But again to take a double podium and to take four podiums consecutively from Knockhill and here it is good form and I hope to continue this way in Thruxton,which is probably one of my favourite tracks,” said Linfoot at the track after race two.
“Really good weekend, and a massive thanks to Honda Racing and they made a really big effort with the Fireblade and we keep saying she is a bit of an old beast but we are riding quite well at the moment and if we can keep riding like this I am sure we can all be proud.”
Speaking to bikesportnews.com after the first race Linfoot added: “I am disappointed with the rain - anyway I will take the points and it is good for the podium credits and the Showdown. But I am second again and we don’t come here for second. The bike is going good so we will keep at it.”
