Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey made it on to the podium in the opening MCE British Superbike race at Brands Hatch, to finish in third.
It has been a positive weekend for the Cambridgeshire racer who started on pole in both races. In the end Be Wiser Ducati’s Shane Byrne did the double, and Mossey was able to benefit from a crashing Bennetts Suzuki’s Tommy Bridewell to move from fourth to third in race one.
In the final race out on the GP circuit the Kawasaki man once again finished well inside the top ten and crossed the line in seventh, and is on joint equal points with JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Ellison in the standings.
“I was trying 110 percent the whole way, but still happy to be on the box,” said Mossey, speaking after race one, at the Brands Hatch GP track.
“I know it is unfortunate for Tommy but we want to keep up wracking up these podium credits and I think we are two points off sixth now so our main aim is to get as many points as we can. I was struggling a bit with the front end with five laps in to be fair and we went with the harder tyre and it kept rolling a bit but I think the track was quite greasy.”
