Bennetts-backed Halsall Racing will split with Suzuki at the end of this season as team owner Martin Halsall is fed up with waiting for the appearance of the new GSX-R1000.
Halsall does not pull any punches in a statement released by the team and says he is making inroads into securing a deal with a new manufacturer.
“We have certainly taken a great deal of positives from this season but it has not been without its challenges. Challenges that I can only say have been hindered through our association with Suzuki,” said the statement.
“The manufacturer unveiled their new machine in November 2015 and their intention was to make that bike available to Halsall Racing sooner rather than later. The reality has been far from that and the delivery date has been continuously delayed throughout the year. The bike was presented to the public in 2015 yet it is still to make an appearance, despite repeated promises from Suzuki and that is far from acceptable.
“While we unfortunately missed out on a place in the Showdown, the team remains confident we can finish the 2016 campaign on a high with Tommy. He is very happy and we are hopeful his services can be retained next year.
“My planning for the new season must begin now so we can be competitive by the start of the 2017 campaign. Over the coming weeks I will be working to secure another manufacturer and a second rider in order for us to mount a serious title assault next year.”
