Dave Tyson’s MV Agusta Dickies British Supersport effort faces an uncertain future after a theft at the team’s storage facility cleaned them out of spares, wheels, engines, bodywork and leathers.
The team’s race truck had been parked inside the secure storage area along with nine other artics but thieves managed to gain access, drain each and every lorry of diesel before setting to work on the MV Agusta transporter. They stripped it almost bare but fortunately Jack Kennedy’s bike was elsewhere at the time.
“This leaves the team in a very delicate position going forward. I have asked all of our current sponsors and suppliers if they are able to replace as much as they can before we go to Knockhill, but I think it will be touch-and-go, all things considered,” said Tyson, who is offering a cash reward for information leading to a conviction and/or recovery of parts.
“I would like to ask if people could keep an eye out for kit being offered or people asking about any MV Agusta race products. A lot of the parts taken are specific to us. Unfortunately, the truck is only insured while in transit, so this is a total loss for the team.”
