MCE British Superbike Championship leader Leon Haslam put in just five laps on team-mate Luke Mossey’s bike after his engine gave up the ghost this morning.
Haslam hadn’t turned a wheel on the #91 JG Speedfit Kawasaki and because the team are down to a skeleton crew due to TT 2017 commitments, spare engines were at the workshop some three hours away.
The Derby man therefore sat out the opening session of the day before going out on Mossey’s ZX-10RR to set a 1’50.775, a second down on fastest man John Hopkins, and then went home.
