Honda Racing's Jason O'Halloran will start the opening MCE British Superbike race from third on the grid at Snetterton, after making it on to the front row for the first time this season, after an impressive Superpole lap.
During the qualifying session the Fireblade man posted a 1'47.106, and was 0.1s shy of a sub 1'46 time, and even though he was out-paced by Be Wiser Ducati's Shane Byrne and McAMS Yamaha's James Ellison he still set a solid time to place him third fastest overall.
The Australian has spent most of the weekend testing his pace on the harder rear Pirelli tyre over race distance and O'Halloran is happy with what his team have achieved so far.
Last year the Honda man won a race at the Snetterton track, and he wants history to repeat itself tomorrow and will not give up the fight for a victory, especially after all the improvements his crew have made when it comes to conserving tyre life.
"I am really pleased to be up on the front row as it is the first front row in qualifying this year," said O'Halloran, speaking at the track.
"I have been working all weekend on making the tyres last and working towards tomorrow. In Q1 and Q2 we made little steps and in Q2 I did a 47.3 on lap six or seven on the
tyre and I thought I might be in for a shot in qualifying of going even quicker.
"I put a really good last sector together and I have seen 47.1 but the other two boys were in a different league. I am not giving up on tomorrow and I am ready to fight and we will be giving it everything we have got."
