Brands BSB: Young gun Mossey targets podium return

MCE British Superbike series leader Luke Mossey wants to bounce back from his ‘disappointing’ Snetterton round and get back to the podium at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki man saw his lead cut to just seven points as Shane Byrne bagged a double win while team-mate Leon Haslam also struggled.

“Snetterton was really disappointing for the whole team really and both myself and Leon had a bad weekend, but I guess the way I look at it, it was my turn to have some bad luck. Shakey and Leon have had theirs with missing races so to look at it positively, having some points scoring races on a ‘bad weekend’ was better than a DNF,” said Mossey.

“I feel like I have already put the Snetterton weekend behind me now especially at Brands Hatch. That’s obviously the place I had my first win this season and so we know that the bike is fast there, we just need to work hard again to make sure we can do the same on the Grand Prix track.

“We need to be back on the podium in both races at Brands Hatch because it is so important for the championship and we need to then carry the momentum into the next tracks which should suit the JG Speedfit Kawasaki.”

“To be leading the standings is good, but we need to stay there because it is where we are on the final day of the season at Brands Hatch that counts the most.”
