Brands BSB finale: O'Halloran 'expecting to be strong'

McAMS Yamaha's Jason O'Halloran goes into this weekend's Bennetts British Superbike finale feeling confident his R1 will be a leading package.

The Australian is 19 points behind countryman and series leader Josh Brookes with Glenn Irwin in third place just a single point ahead, whilst Christian Iddon in second is only a mere three-points ahead.

The McAMS Yamaha rider knows that there is all to play for this weekend as he bids for his first Bennetts BSB title.

“I like racing at Brands Hatch, I’ve had some really good races there in the past," said O'Halloran.

"I can’t wait to race there on the new Yamaha this year because we’ve been stronger at some tracks where we’ve struggled a little bit last year and I think this will be one of them circuits where we improve quite a lot from where we were last season.

“I’m expecting to be strong. Who knows what’s coming up at the end of October but it’ll be really nice to have three dry races to battle out for the championship between the top guys and see where we end up.

"Obviously, Saturday will be an important day for us to try and beat our competitors and make sure we take the title fight right down to the last race on Sunday, and see if we can manage to lift the trophy on Sunday afternoon.”
