2013 British Superbike calendar announced

British Superbike bosses have this morning announced the 2013 calendar. Next year, the series will again comprise 12 events across eight UK circuits as well as a round in continental Europe. The season commences at Brands Hatch at the start of April before heading to Thruxton a week later and then Oulton Park on the traditional May Bank Holiday weekend. The annual Scottish round of the championship at Knockhill will again take place in June before returning to the Snetterton 300 circuit in July.

The summer Brands Hatch Grand Prix round returns in July before a triple-header second visit to Oulton Park on 9/10/11 August and the August Bank Holiday 'Party in the Park' at Cadwell Park. Donington Park in Leicestershire will again host the crucial final round of the Main Season on 6/7/8 September, where the top six riders for the Showdown phase of the championship will be decided.

The Showdown will once more take place at two current MotoGP venues with the legendary Assen opening the three title-deciding rounds following its successful debut in 2012. The penultimate round will take place at Silverstone GP on 4/5/6 October and two weeks' later on 18/19/20 October the hallowed Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will host the triple-header season finale.
