MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews will partner his British Superbike team-mate at this year's Le Mans 24-Hour race for the former Kawasaki France squad.
Andrews, who has never entered a 24-hour endurance race before, reckons he is nervous about joining GSR Kawasaki team but is looking forward to the experience.
Writing in his exclusive bikesportnews.com column, Andrews said: "had an email a few days ago from my MSS Colchester Kawasaki team Julien asking if I would like to be his team mate! I received this before 10am so I wasn’t fully awake and not able, at that ridiculous time of the morning, to understand exactly what he was on about.
"So I pointed out we were already team mates. "Tres bien,” he said, “but not at Le Mans 24-Hour World Endurance… yet." I never wanted to race in a 24-hour after my ride in the eight-hour at Qatar but you forget the pain and I love learning new circuits, so I have agreed, after talking to Julien, to sign for GSR Kawasaki (Gilles Stafler Racing) and they will make sure I’ll be ready for it."
