Mar-Train Yamaha's Stuart Easton took his second Motorpoint British Supersport double of the year, breaking clear and easing to victory once again in Holland.
The Scotsman took the holeshot from the front row of the grid and despite coming under pressure from yesterday's podium finisher Richard Cooper and Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson, he was able to post consistent lap times at lap record pace allowing him to pull away and clinch his ninth win of the year.
The battle for the final podium places was more closely fought, however, with Gearlink teammates, Wilson and Seeley, battling with Samsung Honda's Jason O'Halloran on his return from Moto2 World Championship duty.
Wilson held second but Seeley was beginning to chase down his teammate, hoping to limit the amount of points Easton took away from him. However, behind Seeley was O'Halloran who had just posted the fastest lap of the race with two laps remaining. As the they came through to start the last lap, the trio were together as one. O'Halloran made the first move diving underneath Seeley at the tight left-hand hairpin of Strubben. The Australian struck again at the penultimate corner, pushing Wilson wide and allowing Seeley to get alongside him.
The teammates were side by side as they got on the brakes into the final corner of the Geert Timmer Chicane and Wilson was on the inside for the right before laying it on top of Seeley for the right, forcing the Northern Irishman to shut off and allow Wilson through to take the final podium spot. Leaving Assen, Easton holds a 34 point advantage as a result of Wilson stealing points away from his Gearlink colleague.
Oxford TAG Triumph's Richard Cooper got the better of the reigning Supersport champion Glen Richards to take fifth spot, with Luke Mossey behind them in seventh after fading out of podium contention with his back injury casuing him a lot of pain. Dutchman Kervin Bos wrapped up a cup double victory on home soil with an eighth place, ahead of Tyco Suzuki's Taylor Mackenzie and Appleyard Macadam's Graeme Gowland.
