Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill will start the second MCE British Superbike race at Assen from the second row of the grid after officials considered the Swan Yamaha's participation in the opening race.
Hill's damaged bike had been taken off the grid and into the team's garage with the initial decision given to race control being that they would not take part in the race. However, the team managed to repair the machine, which had tyre warmers fitted and operational, and they then decided to start the race after the warm-up lap had begun.
The rules specify that all works after the three minutes board must be carried out without tyre warmers operational. As a result Hill was demoted five places on the starting grid.
He had set the fastest lap of the race in the six laps that he completed but with the penalty imposed will start from sixth.
