Assen BSB: Linfoot escapes lap-two crash unscathed

Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot escaped his lap-two crash in the second Bennetts British Superbike round unscathed after his bike ended up in a fireball by the side of the track.

Linfoot tagged the back of Leon Haslam who had slowed fractionally as Tarran Mackenzie got a slide through the Geert Timmer chicane. As the Yorkshireman went down, he was run over by Glenn Irwin while his bike got stuck under the front wheel of Tommy Bridewell’s Moto Rapido Ducati and burst into flames.

He was taken to hospital with suspected pelvic injuries after clutching his leg in the gravel trap but scans have shown no broken bones.

“The second race was carnage. Thankfully after scans the hospital has confirmed Dan has not broken anything, it has been an horrendous year for him and I’m gutted that his weekend ended with a crash. We now look forward to the final round at Brands Hatch where hopefully we can finish the year strongly,” said team boss Havier Beltran.
