Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes topped both MCE British Superbike free practice sessions this afternoon at Assen but isn't filled with confidence for the weekend, after rear-grip issues affected him all day.
The title fighter blamed the setup of the bike for his crash in the first free practice session and continued to bemoan that 'tyre life might be an issue' for the two races on Sunday.
"I'm not happy, really. We've got quite a lot to work on, so we'll have to sit down tonight and try think of a few things. The real issues are coming from the rear of the bike, we're struggling for grip. We need to try something for tomorrow but we're not in a bad place lap time wise, we just need to do a lot better in certain places tomorrow," said Lowes, speaking to bikesportnews.com from Assen.
"The crash this morning was to do with the bike but it's not too bad overall, at least we've got somewhere to work from. We're also in a better position than we have been over the past two rounds, losing Friday to the weather. My tyre life might be an issue but I'm confident the boys can make the bike better for tomorrow and we'll see where we are."
