PBM team boss Paul Bird has confirmed he will be back in the MCE British Superbike Championship next year with a one-rider team and official Kawasaki backing.

After meetings with Kawasaki and series boss Stuart Higgs yesterday at the Northamptonshire circuit, Bird now has to only finalise negotiations with sponsors to complete to the package.

"I'll be back next year with Shakey - it will be a one rider team with Kawasaki. Without Shakey I wouldn't be doing it. We will be the official Kawasaki team and they have promised me lots of support," said Bird, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Silverstone.

"We're talking sponsorship and it could be a former sponsor in the series coming on board as well."
