Racing legend Giacomo Agostini will be in the Brands Hatch spotlight next weekend when he attends the eighth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship (BSB). Fans and spectators will have the rare chance to meet the former 15 times World Champion on the THINK! Motorcycle Academy unit where he will be interviewed twice over the action packed weekend 8th/9th August.
Living legend Agostini has won a record 122 GP race victories which places him firmly at the top of the all-time ‘Greats’ list. The Italian has inspired many riders, not least including fellow Italian Valentino Rossi who claims ‘Ago’ is his idol. Agostini will also be demonstrating some of the skills which led him to such success with parade laps around the track.
Agostini commented, “It is a great pleasure to be riding at Brands Hatch at the BSB event. I think the circuit is fabulous for racing and the British fans are so passionate. I am really happy that I will be on track for some demonstration laps and also to meet some of the fans during the weekend at the THINK! stand.”
The weekend running 8th-9th August is being billed as the flagship round of the season. Visitors to Brands Hatch will not only be treated to a thrilling weekend of racing but also to lots of exciting and interactive off-track action courtesy of THINK!
With over 30,000 BSB fans set to descend on Brands Hatch to watch the race, high traffic volume will make driving and riding conditions particularly hazardous. THINK! Road Safety, is warning drivers and motorcyclists to take care on the roads in Kent and the surrounding areas.
Joining Agostini for interviews and an opportunity to meet the fans at the THINK! unit will be Worx Suzuki rider, Tommy Hill, who returns to his home circuit hopeful for a strong race. Tommy will also be joined by HM Plant Honda Superbike riders Steve Brogan and World Superbike regular Karl Muggeridge.
The THINK! Motorcycle Academy will also play host to the front-row qualifying press conference as well as Q&A and autograph signing sessions with BSB heroes and former triple Champions John Reynolds and Niall Mackenzie.
Furthermore, visitors will be able to get up close and personal with all the latest 2009 Superbikes that are being displayed at the stand along with interactive computer pods, and a Honda rider simulator.
