Bennetts Suzuki’s Tommy Bridewell helped his manufacturer reach the MCE British Superbike rostrum for the first time since 2014, after finishing race one in third at the Brands Hatch Indy track.
The Devizes rider is happy that he has regained some confidence that he felt he had lost. He was pleased that he was able to get out on his GSX-R1000 in dry weather conditions, to show everyone what he is capable of, especially coming off the back of a successful test at the Anglesey circuit in North Wales.
Bridewell was close to making it a double podium, but had to settle for fourth in race two, but he gained some important points for his team and a podium credit too. He is now up to ninth in the series standings.
“It [the podium] feels very good and for a number of reasons; one to silence some of the critics who talk the crap and it is nice to get my confidence back with a team that believe in me and I
am over the moon and I can repay the team and Suzuki who have not stopped developing the bike,” said Bridewell at the track.
“The sun is here and it makes a massive difference, and it was good fun to have a battle like that. It was a bit hairy with Luke into turn one and I thought I was going to go down and he was going
to come with me. I thought maybe I could fight for the win and I was catching James a little bit, but I was not quite there.”
