BRANDS BSB: BURNS ENJOYING SUPERSTOCK MOVE

Splitlath Motorsport's Joe Burns first weekend in the Senior Superstock has got off to a flying start with the Newcastle upon Tyne rider finished eighth in first session around the Kent circuit of Brands Hatch for the eighth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship.
Despite an high speed crash in qualifying Burns impressively took tenth place following both qualifying sessions ready for tomorrow's race.  Burns lost the front at Sheene Curve causing quite a bit of damage to his R1 which will keep him and his team busy.
Reviewing his debut weekend into the category Burns said: "I am enjoying it, its going really well, to be tenth is good.  We still do have some setup issues, but that's to be expected.  I am ok from the crash, the corner is blind and the front kept going light and it was the front I lost when I crashed.  I know I may have given up a championship podium, but this is where I want to be, this is the category we are going to be in next year."
Prior to this weekend Burns was sitting second in the Junior Superstock category only ten points behind the leader, but even though he appreciates what this means he knew and wanted to be in Superstock 1000.  He intends to put everything into developing both the bike and himself as rider in preparation for a full on attack assault next season for the championship title.
