MCE British Superbike series leader Shane Byrne goes into the second of his three home rounds at Brands Hatch this weekend on a high, after a successful test at Cadwell Park.
The Be Wiser Ducati man, who leads Leon Haslam by 15 points in the title chase, spent two evenings at the Lincolnshire track ahead of this weekend’s double-header and declared his love for the Panigale. But he also knows he will have to continue to work hard to stay ahead of the game.
“It was really good to get back out at Cadwell for the past couple of evenings. Riding the bike at different circuits has thrown up some unique challenges in getting the feeling I require to get going really fast. So every track we get to ride at before we have to race there is a bonus,” said Byrne.
“We got going pretty well on the second evening and I'm happy with the progress we made. We definitely have a base to start from when we go there to race now, which is great. Next up though is one of my favourites, Brands Hatch GP circuit. I love the place to ride and I certainly love my bike at the minute. We have to keep our heads down though, to concentrate and to work as hard as ever. The season is getting close to a crucial point now so podium points and wins are top of my agenda. I can't wait until next week to get back out and ride.”
