Shane Byrne takes his last pole position for Airwaves Ducati followed by HM Plant Honda team mates Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow. The final regular front runner Tom Sykes finishes off the front row on his Rizla Suzuki.
Qualifying - First session
The riders eliminated in the first round including Hydrex Honda's Guy Martin, SMT Honda's Jason O'Hallaron, Red Viper Racing replacement rider Peter Hickman, Moto Rapido Racing's Francis Williamson, Brookspeed Leon Morris, STP Superbike riders Victor Cox and Chris Burns.
Karl Harris of Rob Mac Racing did not participate in the session due to personal issues, therefore the team drafting in Jon Kirkham to take over his seat. Regular Henderson R1 Cup and Superstock 1000 rider made it through to the second round.
The session was eventful from the start with Haslam highsiding at clearways on only his second lap. He ran back to the garages for his second bike to return to track finishing second putting him through to the next round.
Airwaves Ducati's second rider Leon Camier followed by Byrne dominated the session until Crutchlow took first place with eight minutes to go, shortly followed by his team mate Haslam.
STP Superbike rider Chris Burns was black flagged twice within the session due to smoke pouring out of his MV Agusta.
Michael Rutter on his NW200 also crashed with eight minutes to go, but at that point was sitting in fifth securing his position in the next round.
MAR Adept rider Shannon Etheridge was one of the front runners within the Daily Star Cup amongsth NW 200 John Laverty and Quay Racing Gary Mason, finishing the session in 15th.
Qualifying - second session
Second batch of riders eliminated were MSS Kawasaki Billy McConnell, Rizla Suzuki Atsushi Watanabe, NW200 John Laverty, Quay Racing Gary Mason, MSS Kawasaki Stuart Easton, Hydrex Animal Honda Guy Martin, MAR Adept Shannon Etheridge and Hawk Kawasaki Scott Smart.
Again Airwaves Ducati dominated the session, holding off HM Plant Honda team mates who settled for third and fourth. Mason's lost valuable time at the start of the session due to a problem with his tyre stickers.
Numerous riders pulled in to the pits to make alterations to the bike including Martin and Ellison's, along with Billy McConnell of MSS Kawasaki. This was the first time since the new qualifying system came into place that no Daily Star Cup rider has made it through the third and final session.
Qualifying - third session
Byrne led the session from the beginning and took pole with a time of 0'45.799s, the only rider to enter the 45s. Haslam took second with a injured shoulder from his highside at the start of the session.
Replacement rider Kirkham was the first Yamaha in ninth in preparation for what looks to be a busy weekend for the rider.
