BRANDS BSB: CAMIER MASSIVELY HAPPY AFTER FREE PRACTICE

Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier reckons he is massively happy with his performance during the first two days of free practice at Brands Hatch this week, especially as his bike was only started for the first time midweek.

The Kent youngster was only just pipped by Hydrex Honda's Karl Harris in this afternoon's free practice session and is happy with what his team has been able to do in such a short space of time.

"I am massively happy with where we are at the moment, and it's only our second day on track. We've made some big steps to improve the settings on the Airwaves Yamaha and it's getting faster and faster all the time," said Camier.

"I was starting to feel a lot more comfortable on the bike this afternoon and just can't wait to get back on it again tomorrow."

Team-mate James Ellison hasn't had such a good time of it, ruled out of most of Friday's sessions by electrical issues on his new Yamaha YZF-R1. However, the Cumbrian former MotoGP is still upbeat about his chances.

"It was frustrating having the weather interrupt our plans for practice today, but I am so pleased to be back on a bike after the long winter break," said Ellison.

"The Airwaves Yamaha feels really good already so we're just working on small changes to the set-up as the weekend progresses. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have some dry track time, but whatever the weather I feel confident we can continue to improve our lap times ahead of qualifying."
