Former BSB star and GP rider Sean Emmett will make a return to racing at his home track of Brands Hatch tol contest the final round of the Yamaha R1 Cup during the upcoming British Superbike weekend.
Emmett, who did half a season in the ‘08 series but had to pull out due to financial troubles, has the backing of a couple of sponsors and Rob Mac Racing for the one-off ride.
And he will decide his future in racing after the outing.
"I love racing and I especially love riding at Brands Hatch," said Emmett. "It’s a special place for me as it is where I raced for the first time and it would be good to go out with a podium finish," said Emmett.
"Retirement has been the foremost thing in my head in recent weeks but I have had a chat with my family and I will see how this race goes before a final decision is made on what I want to do in 2009."
Emmett needs to raise cash for his final appearance, so all donations would be gratefully received. Click here to get in touch.
