BRANDS BSB: FIRST CORNERS ARE TOUGH HERE, SAYS GOWLAND

Motorpoint Yamaha's Graeme Gowland reckons that the first corner scrap in British Superbikes is pretty tough after experiencing it for the first time at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The BSB rookie got mugged off the line in both of yesterday's races but fought his way into the top ten in race one and feels that he had the pace in race two to run at the front.

"Well that is the first one out of the way! I got mugged with both starts but rode hard in the first race to get through to ninth position. My times were strong so for the second race I really thought I could run at the front," said the youngster.

"I will have to get used to the battle at the first corners as this messed me up again, saying that I had some real grip issues in the second race so was pleased to get some points. For my first race weekend I am happy and we will get stronger from now on."
