Brands BSB: First Motostar win for Irving

RS Racing's Joe Irving stormed to his first Monster Energy Motostar win of the year in spectacular style, coming from fourth on the last lap to take his first British championship victory.

Bradley Ray took the holeshot on the FAB Racing Mahindra 125 but his lead didn't last for long with Moto3 championship leader, Joe Francis, diving under the inside of the Red Bull Rookie at Paddock Hill Bend. A leading group of five battled throughout the race but as they went on to the last lap, Francis still held the lead from Tarran Mackenzie and Bradley Ray.

Mackenzie slipstreamed past Francis to take the lead but the WD40 man fought back almost immediately, diving under the KTM of Mackenzie. It came down to the last corner and from nowhere Irving dived under Brad Ray and sandwiched himself between Mackenzie and Francis, as they were three abreast through Clearways.

RS Racing KTM's Irving had the power to take the victory ahead of Francis and Mackenzie, with Ray fourth and Australian Olly Simpson fifth. The front five was covered by just 0.3 of a second.

Arnie Shelton came home in sixth, the second 125, ahead of 125 championship leader Tom Carne. Peter Sutherland finished in eighth place with Callum Bey and Stephanie Waddelow rounding out the top ten.
