Mar-Train Yamaha's Stuart Easton is pleased with his front-row qualifying position, indicating that the front row is essential in the Motorpoint British Supersport class. The Scotsman still feels that it is 'early days' but is confident of getting the season up and running in the sprint race later this afternoon.
"Front row was our aim so from that point of view it's job done. Pole position is always nice and but with these cold conditions, it's essential to be on the front row to challenge for some strong finishes.
"We just want some strong results and points on the board this weekend, which I'm confident we can achieve. But it's early days and we don't know what everybody else's race pace is like, so we'll just have to see how it unfolds." Said the Hawick racer, speaking to bikesportnews.com after this morning's qualifying session.
"The Championship is no different to previous years. Whereas in 2002 I was against Crutchlow, Sykes, Laverty and Camier now I'm against Richards, McConnell, Seeley and Irwin. There is no doubt it will be tough. I've settled into the class now and I've got a decent pace, so there's no reason why there won't be a strong year ahead of us."
