HM Plant Honda's Leon Haslam has vowed to bow out of the British Superbike Championship in style at Brands Hatch this weekend but recognises the competition is going to be red hot.
Haslam, who moves to the Stiggy Honda World Superbike team next year, is on a run of wins, taking five from the last seven races, but plans to add to his tally at the Kent track
“I’ve won five out of the last seven races and now I want to make it seven out of nine. I want to the leave the team and the Bennetts British Superbike series on a high and that’s the aim," said Haslam.
"Obviously everyone is out there is going for it, Cal’s got a point to prove coming into the last round, Tom Sykes is strong and Shakey hasn’t won a race in 12 outings, so the competition is going to be red-hot.
"I think the Indy circuit is a bit here and there to be honest, there’s also not many places to overtake, but 30 laps around such a short circuit makes for a pretty busy race, so it should be fun.”
