Brands BSB: Hill continues to lead the field

Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill has topped the second MCE British Superbike free practice timesheet at Brands Hatch this afternoon, fending off a late charge from title contender Shane Byrne with team-mate Noriuki Haga in third.

Hill led this morning's opening session and continues to set the pace with a 1'26.284 which a was little under four-tenths of a second faster than two-time champion Byrne on the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki while Haga was another tenth further back.

Graeme Gowland put his WFR Honda in fourth place with a 1'26.861 which was enough to keep heroic Stuart Easton in sixth place and Michael Laverty in sixth. Tommy Bridewell put his Supersonic BMW in seventh place with Alex Lowes and Alastair Seeley rounding out the top ten.
