GBmoto Kawasaki’s Chris Walker is hopeful that he will be back in the MCE British Superbike championship next year, but it wont' be with his current squad after GBmoto outfit decided not to re-sign the veteran for another season, leaving the housewives' favourite looking for a new ride.
Even though Walker is still recovering from a coccyx injury he still made it on to podiums and clinched a place in the Showdown – which was his ultimate goal, bu Walker says the team have got ‘big plans’ with the championship title in their sights next season.
They have already renewed contracts with James Ellison, but told Walker that he won't be needed in 2015. Walker would have liked to stay with the team but is looking elsewhere and wants to remain on his beloved Kawasaki next season.
“I am hoping to be here next year – nothing has been signed as such. GBmoto have got big plans but unfortunately I am not part of them,” said Walker, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“I would have loved to have thought I could stay but at the end of the day the team want to win the British championship and they believe they want something different to me and I respect that, and they have done a great job for me this year. I have a few options for next year and I want to be on a Kawasaki if I can too.
“The team set us goals and that was to get a podium and I did that and I made the Showdown and that was my target, but fingers crossed I can get out there again next year.”
