Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari will not start the final MCE British Superbike race at Brands Hatch as he is still in pain with a broken collarbone.
The championship has already been awarded to Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne who was the race two victor, but Kiyonari has already done enough to secure second in the overall championship standings.
Kiyonari crashed during FP3 on Friday and has not taken part in any of the qualifying sessions or races this weekend, as he is still in discomfort and is having continuing treatment on his injury.
“Kiyo will not be out in the final race and Byrne has already won the championship, and we need to get the injury straight and we will go on from there and look towards next year,” said team owner Stuart Hicken, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.
