NW200 Yamaha's British Supersport rider Dan Linfoot has declared himself chuffed with his debut podium in the class at Brands Hatch yesterday, taking third place behind two riders with years of experience.
Linfoot, who has never competed in the class before, led for more than 20 laps in a thriller and was only passed by Raceways Yamaha's Billy McConnell and HM Plant Honda's Steve Plater in the closing stages.
Speaking to bikesportnews.com through a dodgy hands-free kit, Linfoot crackled: "I am chuffed with that. Obviously, it was a shame those two got through and the end but I didn't miss a braking marker or go wide anywhere.
"Billy and Steve rode well in the race and it was so close. It was good to get on the front row in qualifing and the bike didn't miss a beat. I am happy with the bike and with the team, they've done everything they can and I can't wait to get to Oulton.
"We have tested there pre-season, so I know where it goes and I like it because it's fast and flowing. I'm pretty confident of a good result and for the rest of the season."
Linfoot added he would like to thank Rob McElnea and the team, Proppa.com and Stonebaker Racing.
