Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot is out for at least the rest of the second round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship with a broken vertebrae in his neck
Linfoot crashed at Graham Hill Bend during yesterday’s second free practice session at Brands Hatch, and has been diagnosed with a fractured C6 vertebrae.
The crash happened after he had just set his best time of the day around the short Indy circuit, and the session was red-flagged as race medics attended to him at the scene.
He was then take to the Princess Royal University Hospital in London for further scans which revealed the fracture.
Last night he told Bikesport News he is expected to remain in hospital until Monday, and there is currently no time frame for his return to action.
Linfoot had been sitting third in the championship ahead of this weekend, following his third and fourth place finishes at Donington Park two weeks ago.
