Honda Racing’s Factory Dan Linfoot has broken his wrist in a crash during this morning’s opening MCE British Superbike free practice at Brands Hatch and will have to undergo surgery.

Linfoot attended King’s College Hospital in London, the same place he went after his big crash at the Kent circuit two years ago, where doctors determined he will need an operation to begin the healing process, meaning he will miss the Oulton Park round.

“Following a crash in FP1 this morning at Brands Hatch, Dan has broken his wrist and will undergo surgery in two to four days time at Kings College Hospital in London,” said a team statement.

“Dan will miss the remainder of the second round of the championship, as well as Oulton Park in a few weeks time. Following his surgery Dan will rest and undergo a course of treatments to speed up the recovery process to get him ready for the fourth round at Snetterton.”
