Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes is confident of running at the front and getting some solid results, to get his MCE British Superbike season going this weekend at Brands Hatch, despite missing out on valuable track time this morning due to the freezing weather conditions.
The Lincolnshire lad has been focusing on race setup today, getting to grips with the Ohlins suspension on-board his Fireblade.
"I'm pleased with what we've managed to achieve today in my first official day with the Samsung Honda squad. We managed to sort out the gearing and throttle set-up today, which is always good to get out of the way. Tomorrow, before we go qualifying, I'll be looking to further the set-up we've got on the suspension too. The Ohlins suspension is different to what I've ridden with before, especially the front suspension, which reacts completely different to what I've known previous." said Lowes, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"The pace will be quicker in qualifying tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how the bike reacts when I begin to push. Obviously, if the weather stays as is it, I won't be pushing that hard with a cold track. It's not easy to find clear track with the circuit being so short, but if I'm aware on my outlap, I'm confident of finding some clear track and being there or there a bouts on the timing sheets.
"As long as we can get through this weekend with some solid results, both the team and I will be happy to then push on in future rounds."
