Gearlink Kawasaki's Chris Martin is to be transferred to King's College Hospital in London after doctors discovered a suspected seven fractures in his spine following a horror crash at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Martin tipped off at Hawthorn during the British Supersport race, bounced across the gravel and was catapulted over the Armco barrier which snapped the pin the ankle he broke at Brands over Easter and he has also fractured the same bone, but on the other side to the original break.

A team spokesman said: "Chris is ok in himself and has movement but of course is immobilised now until they can get him to Kings and see what to do with his spine."
