BRANDS BSB: MUGGERIDGE QUALIFIES TOP TEN

H M Plant Honda’s Karl Muggeridge qualified inside the top ten in eighth position at Brands Hatch this weekend in the MCE British Superbike category as he stands in to replace Josh Brookes.
After some testing at Cadwell Park Muggeridge has come to the Kent circuit and looks to have no problem with adapting to a new bike and team.  In the first practice session he sat in second place on the timing sheets with a time of 1’29.607s.  Each time on track Muggeridge has bought his time down to before eventually setting his fastest lap of the weekend so far of 1’27.836s in qualifying.
Muggeridge said: “My target has been to improve the bike and do the best I could in qualifying.  We have made improvements in each session and the bike is better than what it was yesterday.  A lot of time is being used to find a good setup for the races.  This year has been a struggle.  This is good bike and a good team.  I like the Honda’s and the track.”
The opportunity to ride for one of the strongest teams in the British paddock was a bit of a lifeline for Australian rider who started the season racing in World Superbikes with Celani Suzuki Squad, but the team could no longer continued leaving Muggeridge without a ride.
He hasn’t been back in the British paddock for long before immediately reminding people of his skill on two wheels and will certainly be one to watch in the each of the unusual amount of three races this weekend, the first of which is later this afternoon.
