Be Wiser Ducati's Shane Byrne is one happy rider this evening, as he was able to put down a full race run during the second MCE British Superbike free practice session at Brands Hatch this afternoon.
But not only that the currently championship leader was able to set the fastest time in FP2, after a 1'25.523 - a lap that was only one tenth off record pace.
The Panigale rider tested out both the harder and softer rear Pirelli tyres at his local track, and he has hailed his first day of the last round as 'really good'.
"It has been a good first day here at Brands Hatch for us; we have done some work on the harder tyre and also on the soft," said Byrne at the track.
"We have done a full on race run this afternoon which is full on for a Friday afternoon but the rhythm was really good so I am happy with the day’s work. We are now looking forward to tomorrow and kicking off the first race of the weekend."
