Be Wiser Ducati supremo Paul Bird looks set to re-sign Glenn Irwin to his squad for next year after exploring options with World Superbike star Davide Giugliano.
The Italian factory Ducati racer was ‘one of many’ WSBK rider's that Bird has spoken with to partner Shane Byrne next year - although that deal has also yet to be sealed.
Bird has decided to give rookie Irwin another year on the Panigale, while newly crowned five-time BSB champion Byrne also looks set to remain with the PBM outfit.
“Giugliano was one of many World Superbike riders who were talking to me and talking to Ducati, but probably the rider line up will now stay the same for next year,” said Bird, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“It would be fair to say that we are going to give Glenn another chance and we have to dot the I’s and cross the T’s, and I can’t see them wanting to go anywhere else.”
