Brands BSB: Ray out to continue ‘most successful season to date’

Bennetts British Superbike Championship leader Brad Ray heads to Brands Hatch hoping to continue his reign at the top.

Despite the recent controversy surrounding his Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha team, Ray is focused on the job at hand, securing his showdown place as early as possible. With 216 points on the board already thanks to his 10 podium finishes from 12 races, the 25-year-old holds a 16 point lead over nearest rival McAMS Yamaha Jason O’Halloran heading into round five.

“It’s probably the same for everyone, but Knockhill seems an age ago,” Ray admitted. “Although after the busy start to the season it’s been nice to regroup and take stock of what we achieved over the first four rounds.

“It’s already my most successful BSB season to date and we want that to continue until we come back to Brands in October.

“It’s been a relaxing break with plenty of miles on the cycle including a race up in Derbyshire and spending last weekend at WorldSBK, but the focus is now firmly on this next part of the season to continue the podium run and confirm that showdown place as soon as we can.”
