Monster Energy British Motostar rider Andy Reid has been thrown a funding lifeline by Milwaukee Yamaha. The MCE British Superbike outfit have reached out to the Northern Irish lad and have sponsored him for this weekend at Brands Hatch.
He is still competing under RS Racing, but his bike has been sprayed red and he has borrowed Tommy Bridewell’s bright red Dainese leathers and is grateful for the financial support and assistance organised by the power tool company's Commercial Director Dale McElveen.
“Milwaukee contacted me and I said I would be keen to have them onboard in some way, and they supported me for this weekend, and we came up with a plan to ride the bike with Milwaukee colours and they provided the budget for this weekend, with the intention with something in the pipeline for next year. It is the same bike I have used for most of this year, just sprayed with a different colour," said Reid, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Brands Hatch.
“They booked my flights, and I spoke to Dale about the deal. This is the break that I have been needing for a long time, so I am very grateful. But I am also pleased to have had so much support from my family, Ryan Sax and Al, Hifibre, Dean Gossip and Blok51.”
