Relentless Suzuki by TAS’s Alastair Seeley keeps his straight run after the results were declared on lap eight due to a second red flag in the Metzeler Superstock 1000 at Brands Hatch this weekend, but was untouchable from the start.
Seeley was unphased by the interrupted race that included two red flags, the first of which caused a restart. In both starts Seeley rocketed off his pole position to take the win by an astonising 5.6s.
Second place battle was between Padgetts Motorcycles teammates Steve Brogan and John McGuinness who both also started from the front row. Brogan and McGuinness changed places numerous times in both stages of the race but it was Brogan who got ahead to claim the second podium step by a mere 0.203s.
Richard Cooper of Team Co-Ordit who started from third on the grid won his battle with Adam Jenkinson of SMT/Rocket Centre to get fourth. All riders battled closely together performing a variety of inside last second dive moves.
The first of the red flags was caused on lap four by Dan Stewart of Wilcock Consulting/J&L motorcycles, injuries unknown at present. Lap eight saw Daniel Brill of DBR/Stu Wilson crash causing the stoppage that declared the race, he walked away but it was clear that he take landed hard.
Other non finishers included Jimmy Storrar of Jimmy Storrar Racing, Bruce Wilson of Sorrymate.com/Team Co-Ordit, debuting Joe Burns of Splitlat Motorsport, Richard Fogg of Ital Sports and Robert Busher of Stacey Racing.
