Airwaves Yamaha boss Colin Wright has said he was overwhelmed at winning his 100th British Superbike race at Brands Hatch yesterday and that the tears were due to a late night on Saturday.
The win makes Wright the most successful BSB team boss in history and in the running as the team manager with most wins in any Superbike series in the world, including WSB. Wright has taken 75 victories with GSE Racing in Ducati and Yamaha liveries, and 25 with Kawasaki in the early 90s.
"I was pretty overwhelmed to be honest but I had a late night on Saturday! It's a great landmark and I hope it is a record that won't be beaten, certainly in my lifetime," said Wright, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"Getting 100 wins, with three different manufacturers, is certainly a special thing and the 100th ranks right up there with Neil Hodgson's WSB wildcard win for us at Donington Park in the year 2000."
