Brands Hatch 'will be a full reset' for Peter Hickman

It is no secret that in recent weeks Peter Hickman has struggled in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. However, the Isle of Man TT star is hoping for a change of fortunes this weekend.

Last time out at Snetterton Peter Hickman had a torrid time with the FHO Racing BMW Team. Hickman only managed to take part in two of the three races and finished one of them in 20th and then did not finish the other race.

The 36-year-old recently put pen to paper on a new deal with the FHO Racing Team for the 2024 season, which will be a weight off of his shoulders going into this weekend.

Last time BSB were at Brands Hatch Hickman put together a solid weekend and finished 2nd, 5th and 1st throughout the three races. It seems like if Hickman is liklely to regain form anywhere it will be at Brands Hatch.

"Brands should be a good weekend," said Peter Hickman ahead of this weekends sixth round of the BSB Championship. "The last time we were there I had a second and fifth place as well as a win.

"But to be honest with where we’ve been the last couple of rounds inside the top-10 would be nice! Brands Hatch is a circuit that tends to suit me a little more with its fast and flowing nature and there’s less stop-starts.

"The weekend will be a full reset for us we’ll try and forget about Snetterton and what we didn’t do – write it off as a bad weekend and move on. The BMW generally works well at the GP track, I’m not sure what the weather is going to do as I never look at the forecast, but it should be a good weekend and I can’t wait to get back to it and have a proper go as the last round was a complete write off!"
