‘Brands should suit us even more' - Linfoot

Honda Racing’s Factory Dan Linfoot is confident the nature of Brands Hatch Indy will even better suit the midrange power and agility of his Fireblade than Donington Park did when the youngster scored his best ever MCE British Superbike Champinship result.

Linfoot bagged a second place in race two at the season opener, only just losing out to Shane Byrne, and thinks that because the Indy circuit is second-to-fifth gear corners, he should be in with a shout of some more podium spots.

“We will attack the weekend like we did at Donington and build up to the race, concentrating on setup and speed on used tyres, focusing on where we need to be on race day. I know Brands will be a little different to Donington because it is a short track with lots of traffic but it is the same for us all,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon from Sandhurst, which the Yorkshireman thinks is in London.

“The most important part will be to qualify on the first two rows and get away at the front. I am going in expecting the track should suit our bike better than Donington did. Our bike was not weak there at all but the nature of Brands Indy being second to fifth gear corners on top of the agility could make it better again.

“The midrange and torque we have is very useable and I am very confident that we will be in a good position to do what we need to do and add to the podium score.”
