Strong rumour shoving its way noisily out of Louth suggests that further budget cuts in the HM Plant Honda British Superbike squad mean Steve Brogan will run under Padgetts colours in the 2009 National Superstock series.
The team were forced to lay off two techncians just before Christmas and it now looks like there have been further restrictions placed on the official outfit. It is not known yet whether Padgetts will be responsible for funding Brogan's year on their own, or whether HM Plant will still be providing some factory backing.
We are awaiting comment from HM Plant Honda team manager Havier Beltran.
