Peter Hickman kept FHO Racing's name at the head of the order as the British Superbike Championship (BSB) resumed for round two of the season at Oulton Park.

With inclement weather conditions in the afternoon limiting track time, nearly all of the best laps of the day were set in the earlier FP1 session, with Hickman powering to the top of the timesheets in the closing stages.

While it was a difficult start to the season for Hickman after a troubling weekend at Silverstone, it was otherwise a fantastic start to the year for newly BMW factory-backed FHO Racing following a trio of podiums - including a win - for its new signing, Josh Brookes.

At Oulton Park, however, it was Hickman looking to get in on the act with a best time of 1m 35.088, which was just under a tenth quicker than his closest rival, Danny Kent on his eponymous Honda CBR1000RR-R.

A strong day for the BMW contingent generally, Leon Haslam was third best on the ROKiT M 1000 RR, while early championship leader Brookes was fifth, the pair sandwiching Tommy Bridewell on the best of the BeerMonster Ducati bikes.

The pace setter in testing last week, Kyle Ryde completed the top six on the OMG Yamaha, with Dean Harrison a surprise seventh fastest and best Kawasaki rider on the DAO bike.
